2014 Was The Year For Partnerships
In 2014, most health systems trended towards collaboration in order to help navigate the continuing changes in the healthcare industry.
Winston-Salem’s Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center
This collaboration between WakeMed in Raleigh and Vidant Health in Greenville is probably the biggest partnership of the 2014-year. This new company will provide support services allowing them to leverage their combined size to purchase and share the best practices. Shared services will allow this partnership to take on new hospitals for management or support with IT assistance and other services. They have already invested in Cornerstone Health Enablement Strategic Solutions and LabCorp, which has increased their ability to collect and interpret data, as well as bring together other health care partners worldwide. We can expect big things from this partnership in 2015.
2014 brought with it a variety of health care partnerships that could be extremely beneficial but will also bring along its own set of challenges. Contact Chivaroli & Associates to discuss how these consolidations can potentially create unwanted risk exposure.
